COL-LAB COLLECTIVE
Aletha Steijns * Anne Oldenhuis * Anneke Stil * Danielle de Waal * Helen Hartmann Preston
Juliette Pestel * Looi van Kessel * Robbert Hubers * Simone Rijksen
Robbert Hubers and Juliette Pestel met in 2022 through a mutal friend, Helen Hartmann. They started talking about art and that lead to the idea to form a collective where collage artists would work together monthly and each member would take turn in offering a prompt to work with. To focus on process and to work outside of one’s comfort zone.
In January 2023 we started the collective and from that moment on, we never stopped.
We meet monthly and found ourselves in studios, cafe’s, a festival, museums, a gallery, a convent, outside and wherever else we can work and find out things about our work and ourselves in the process.
We are planning to go to the Biennale in Venice next year and see where our curiosity takes us.
This photo was taken after a COL-LAB session in the studio of Juliette Pestel in the Hague, where we made something wearable out of cardboard
